Minneapolis Climate Week is five days of events across the Twin Cities. No convention hall, no application process, no pledges, no flown-in keynote. Hosted by those doing the work, because the work matters.

Not a conference. A week.
Minneapolis Climate Week is a distributed, community-organized week of climate connection and celebration across the metro. Practical climate work, open to everyone, hosted by the people already doing it.
There is no central application, no gatekeepers. The week is decentralized by design. Think there should be an event? Make it happen.
Twin Cities Climate Collaborative supports the calendar and coordination, but doesn't run events — each one belongs to the organization or person hosting it.
Not a conference. A set of conditions.

Minnesota is already a hub for climate action, with work happening in neighborhoods, companies, utilities, farms, nonprofits, public agencies, and more. A climate week can surface the often invisible work and put it in context, with helpful connections often following.
If you want in, you're in
This is community-built by design. Don't wait to be invited or look for where to apply. The week is shaped by those who show up. If there is something worth sharing, asking, showing, or working through, there is room for it. And if you are thinking about it, chances are good others are too.
Winter, on purpose
February makes the week specific to Minnesota. Climate work is a lived experience, and progress has to happen under real conditions, not ideal ones.
Room for complexity
There is no single climate problem, and no single climate answer; climate work involves trade-offs, uncertainty, and disagreement. A useful week makes space for the tensions, and candid conversations about what's hard, what's working, and where and how perspectives differ.

Six ways to connect
How will you join in celebration of the future we're building together?
Host an event
The main way in. A workshop, a tour, a panel, a potluck, a repair clinic, a walk on a frozen lake. It's free to list and you keep full control of your own event. We handle the calendar and the promotion.

Space is the thing we need most. A taproom, a community room, a church basement, a library meeting room, a gallery, an office after hours. If you've got a room and some chairs, you can make an event possible for someone who otherwise couldn't.

Is this a conference?
No. There is no convention hall and no flown-in keynote. It's a distributed week of events hosted all over the metro by the people already doing the work — in breweries, coffeeshops, community centers, church basements, and out on the ice.
Is there an application to get involved?
There is no application. That's deliberate. If you want to host, volunteer, offer a venue, or speak — pick a way in above and do it.
Do I need to be invited to host an event?
No. Last year we kept hearing "I wasn't sure where to apply" and "I thought someone would ask me." Consider this the ask: you're invited. Host something.
Does it cost anything?
Attending is free and hosting is free. Sponsors and donors cover the coordination so the week stays that way.
Who's in charge?
The Twin Cities Climate Collaborative coordinates the calendar and the week itself. But nobody runs your event except you — hosts keep full control of their own events.
Can I host an event about rebates, enrollments, or existing programs?
Absolutely. If you want to run a session where people leave having actually applied for a real program — a county rebate, a utility program, a city grant — do it. Bring a laptop and someone who knows the form.
Why February? In Minneapolis?
On purpose. It's a little weird, it's a little offbeat, and the hope is that makes it a little more real. Winter is when we're all indoors together anyway.
Where do events happen?
Anywhere with a room and some chairs — or a frozen lake. Breweries, coffeeshops, nonprofits, libraries, church basements. If you have a space, you have a venue.
